JOY SUSAN SNYDER

Lorain- Joy Susan Snyder (nee: Midili), 74, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph.

Joy was born May 5, 1934 in Carneige, PA, a daughter of Jack and Mae Midili.

Joy, a loving mother, caring and devout friend was a member of St. Anthony of Padua. She graduated from Lorain High School. She retired from the city of Lorain in 1995 where she worked in the Office of the Mayor since 1980. She volunteered for Hospice of St. Joseph. Her hobbies included crocheting, walking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Simone of Clare, Michigan, Sharon Snyder-Wright of Peachtree City, Georgia, Jaye (Anthony) Ceja of Oberlin, Ohio, and Lori (Dave) Garcia of Lorain, Ohio; her companion of 25 years, Walter R. Hoffman; 12 grandchildren, US Navy Lt. JG Dominic (Donna) Simone, Danielle (Chris) Blain, Aaron Wright, Morgan Wright, Christian Wright, Lauren Ceja, Leigh Ceja, Paul Ceja, Kimberly Ceja, Jamie (Nick) Dodson, US Navy FR Cory Garcia and Alexis Garcia; 2 great grandchildren, Nathan Dodson and Bianca Blain; brother, Anthony Midili of Arizona; and foster mother Elizabeth Kanzius of Lorain, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Snyder in 1979, her mother, Mary Mae (nee: Pcsolinski) Midili in 1940; her father, Jack Midili in 2003; and great grand-daughter Briana Lynn Blain in 2008.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, April 17, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain, OH, Fr. Joseph West, O.F.M. Conv., Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

HELEN J. LITKOVITZ

Lorain- Helen J. Litkovitz (nee: Karney), 94, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain.

Helen was born October 22, 1914 in Lorain, a daughter of Stephen and Helen (nee: Kun) Karnai. She lived in Lorain most of her life.

Helen was a member of St. Peter Church and Mission Group in Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1933A. She was employed with Western Automatic during WWII and M. O’Neil as the department head in the Arts and Needlework Department.

Helen was a well recognized China (Porcelain) painter. She helped form and belonged to many China painting organizations and China painting teachers groups, one in particular, International Porcelain Art Teachers, Inc. Her first classes were formed to teach paintings of Native American Children and her first large portrait was featured as a study in the Porcelain Art Teachers Magazine. She was a guest artist for many regional, national and international China painters conventions. She was a guest artist at Oakland University in Michigan for several years. This was all made possible by the loving encouragement and support of her husband, Ted. He would travel with her whenever he could.

She is survived by her nieces, Elaine (Vaughn) Campbell, Gerry (Jim) Watling, Kathleen (Alfred-deceased) Mitchell and Jolyn (Tom) Lines; and nephews, David (Linda) Karney and Mark (Natalie) Karney.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Litkovitz in 1978; and brothers, Nicholas in 1910, Joseph in 1943 during WWII, Stephen in 1962, Louis in 1965, Bert in 1996 and David in 2009.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 4-8 PM. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St. Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Fr. Chuck Henkle O.F.M. Conv., Associate Pastor, officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. SUE M. EISENHARDT

Toledo, Oh - Sue M. Eisenhardt, 96, formerly of Hafely Drive passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Swan Creek Retirement Village, Toledo, Ohio. Sue was born in Italy on May 9, 1912. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill. Sue is survived by son Bill (Barb) Eisenhardt; daughter Judy (Dave) Keyes; grandchildren Patricia Spitzner, Marianne Gray, Michael and Elizabeth Keyes; and great-granddaughters Lauren and Madeline Gray.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 5-9 PM. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:20 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 East Erie Ave., Lorain, OH, Fr. Joseph West, O.F.M., Conv., Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
