INES (ENIS) CONNONE

Ines (Enis) Connone, 90, a 61 year resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 after a short illness at North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta, Georgia. She has resided in Georgia for the past 18 months to be closer to her family.

She was born January 30, 1918 in McKeesport, PA as Ines DeVincentis. The youngest of eight children, she moved to Philadelphia to work as a photographer’s assistant. She met and married her husband and moved to Lorain in 1947 to start a Marine Business and a family.

Ines dedicated her life to her family, her husbands business, her church and her love of volunteering. Her numerous memberships include, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Women’s Guild, Eucharistic Minister, Lorain Palace Civic Center Volunteer for 27 years, former member of Ladies Auxiliary of Italian American War Veterans, Black River Historical Society, RSVP and “Lake Erie Lovelies” Red Hats.

She is survived by her daughter, April Cordell (Joseph), of Cumming, GA, Granddaughters, Robin Marin (Carlos) Dallas, TX, Jamie Rimmer, New York City NY, Sister Olga Lambert, Philadelphia, PA, Nephews, Tony Spano, North Olmstead, OH, and Larry Spano, Farmington, PA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alfred Connone, WW II Captain in the United States Army and owner of Lorain Marine Sales.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 7-9 PM. Additional viewing will be held at St. Mary of the Lake on Saturday, January 3, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2009 at St. Mary of the Lake, 310 8th Street, Lorain, OH 44052, Fr. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary of the Lake Church towards their charitable work in the community.

ANDY "ANIELLO" GISMONDI

Andy “Aniello” Gismondi, 91, passed away, Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Community Health Partners, Lorain.

Andy was born November 4, 1917 in Calvanico, Italy, son of the late Filippo and Fortunata (nee: Visconti). Andy was married to his loving wife, Wedina (nee: Citro) on April 21, 1954 in Pompeii, Italy. He moved to Lorain in 1955 where he resided for the remainder of his life. While working with his family in Italy, he developed masonry skills that he later used in Lorain, while working for John Perisi Concrete from 1955 to 1964. He worked at American Ship Building Company in Lorain from 1964 until his retirement.

Andy enjoyed making homemade wine and gardening in his yard. He also enjoyed sharing his Italian Christmas Village with family and friends during the holiday season.

He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Elyria and a member of the Boilermakers Union, Lorain.

He is survived by his loving wife Wedina of 54 years; his adored daughter, Nadine (John) Baloun; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Nina and Andrew Baloun; his dear brother, Raffaele Gismondi of Italy; and his adored nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Gismondi; sisters, Arcangela and Evelina; brothers, Generoso, Lucio, Gigi and Attilio; and one brother and two sister who passed away at birth.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961, on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.


There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria. Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

NADINE "NADEZDA" KUKULOFF

Nadine “Nadezda” Kukuloff was born in Saparie, Macedonia. To get away from the hardship, Nadine’s’ father, Tom Kukuloff, came to America, got established, then sent for his family consisting of wife, Gurga; son, George; and daughter, Nadine to all be together. It was a joyous family reunion.

Nadine’s Mom passed away a few years later, leaving the children in their fathers’ care. Nadine’s father, Tom Kukuloff, was the greatest and most devoted father and raised his son, George and daughter, Nadine. Later on, he raised Nadine’s children, Carl and Judi, while Nadine worked. She attended Lorain and Elyria schools. She worked at Weitz Factory until it closed and shortly after, she worked at Lorain Products until retirement. While employed at Lorain Products, Nadine graduated from Northern Institute of Cosmetology.

Survivors are son, Carl Lazevich of Lorain; daughter, Judi Acker of Alabama; grandson, Anthony Palella of Florida; granddaughter, Kristen Lazevich of Lorain; a great granddaughter and a great grandson of Lorain; and a great grandson and two great great grandchildren of Florida.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Gurga Kukuloff; brother, George Kukuloff; and grandson, Michael Palella.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Monday from 1-3 PM and Tuesday from 11 AM until time of service.


A Funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the funeral home, Fr. Basil Stoyka, officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
