CALVIN KISH

Calvin Kish, 69, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, June 28, 2009. He was born on June 21, 1940 in Lorain. He was raised and resided in Lorain. In his younger years, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt. Calvin was a commercial painter most of his life. He was a member of many social clubs in Lorain.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Susan) Kish of Avon Lake; and his sister, Barbara (Walter-deceased) Kyle of Lorain.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary E. (nee: Oswalt) Kish; and two sisters, Marilyn Kyle and Doris Kish.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961.

DONALD J. DILUCIANO SR.

Donald J. DiLuciano Sr, 69, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009.
He was born November 19, 1939 in Lorain, OH. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1958. He was a member of Nativity BVM Parish, Lorain where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Adult Mass Server, Holy Name member and past president and member and past chairperson of Nativity “CARES”. He was a member and past president of Holy Name Deanery. He retired in 2001 from Marconi’s of Lorain after 34 years of service. He enjoyed working for the church and charities.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia A. (nee: Vaughn) of Lorain; two sons Dr. Mark E. (Kay) DiLuciano of Akron and Donald J. DiLuciano Jr. of Lorain; one granddaughter, Ashley DiLuciano of Akron; two sisters, Katherine Bylica and Mary Louise Covello; and his mother-in-law, Therese Vaughn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Frances DiLuciano; one brother, Andonio “Tony” DiLuciano; one sister, Jean March; and one granddaughter, Maria DiLuciano.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 today, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Closing Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Nativity BVM Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemtery, Lorain.

JOSEPHINE L. "JOEY" MILOSHOFF

Lorain- Josephine L. “Joey” Miloshoff (nee: Cirell), 77 passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Southwest General Hospital after a long illness.

Joey was born on June 16, 1932 in Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1950. Following school, she worked at Magic Chef and Ted Jacobs. She later worked for Lorain County Child Support as an investigator, retiring in August 2008. Joey was a long time member of St. Peter Church, Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, gambling, playing bingo and loved her kitty.

She is survived by her two adored daughters, Lisa L. Miloshoff of Amherst and Laurie A. Miloshoff of Lorain; her brother, Rudy (Ann) Cirell of Lorain; and two nieces.

Besides her parents, Michael A. and Louise (nee: Broglio) Cirell; and her husband of 32 years, Spiro “Pete” Miloshoff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Monday, June 22, 2009 at St. Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Fr. Chuck Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., officiating (Please meet at church). Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Private viewing was held at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, (440) 244-1961.

GEORGE G. PENA

George G. Pena, 74, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Community Health Partners, Lorain. George was born June 10, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas by his parents, George and Santos (nee: Gonzales) Pena. He moved to Lorain at the age of 14 with his family in 1949. He attended Lorain High School. After school he worked as a Crane Operator at U.S. Steel for 48 years, retiring in 2000.

While working at U.S. Steel, he also worked at T.J. Hume Construction as a Laborer for 17 years. He married his loving wife, Dolores R. “Lola” Pena on February 10, 1956. They raised two children together in Lorain.

George was a member of St. Anthony of Padua, Mexican American Citizens Club, United States Steel Local 1104 and Guadalupe Society from Sacred Heart Chapel. He volunteered at Sacred Heart Chapel kitchen group and regularly attended Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club. He enjoyed woodworking in his garage and watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores R. “Lola” (nee: Garcia) Pena; son, George A. (Laura-fiancé); daughter, Lori Banes; 3 grandchildren, George R. (Krista) Pena, Brandon Banes and Brittney Banes; 2 great grandchildren, G. Brenton and Kylie Pena; 2 brothers, Amado “Moe” (Elvira) Pena and Narciso “Chicho” Pena; sister, Zenaida Elizalde; half brother, Joe Pena; and half sister, Bonnie Pena.

He is preceded in death by his father George Pena; mother Santos Razo; and 2 brothers, Alfred and Eulojio Pena.

MARGARET L. EICHER

Margaret L. Eicher, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village. Margaret was born May 31st, 1919, in Aurora, IL. She grew up in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh areas graduating from Homestead High School (PA). She worked for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh where she met her future husband Clyde Eicher. They moved to Lorain in the early 1950’s where Margaret, along with several friends, founded the Lakeland Women’s Club (Lakeland) serving as the club’s first treasurer. She continued to work in bookkeeping and office management in Lorain at Kaminski Cadillac and Standard Welding Co.

Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, lively conversations, playing bridge and traveling. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain. Margaret recently celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her daughters Karen Gallo of Lorain and Jill Eicher of Alexandria, VA, as well as her granddaughter Allison Gallo of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clyde Eicher in 1976 and her sister Mollie Herbst of Arcadia, CA.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village and New Life Hospice for the loving and tender care given to their treasured mother and grandmother.

RUTH E. CALLAHAN

Ruth E. Callahan (nee: Maxwell), 88, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at Community Health Partners, Lorain.

Ruth was born Thursday, May 5, 1921 in Lorain, OH by her loving parents, Joseph and Lily (nee:Buxton) Maxwell. She graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1940. Ruth met her beloved husband Harris and was married on November 26, 1942. They were married for 66 years. Ruth was a homemaker and was very devoted to her family. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain where she was also a member of the Marian Guild. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed embroidering and needlework. She took great pride sewing bonnets, clothing and dolls for her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her seven children, Thomas Callahan (Janet) of Roswell, Georgia, Ruth A. Callahan (Jan) of Tucker, Georgia, Terrence Callahan (Judy) of Lorain, Timothy Callahan of Seattle, Washington, Stanley Callahan (Vicki) of Lorain, Paul Callahan Sr. (Anne) of Amherst, and Eileen Callahan-Smath (Jerry) of Lorain; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband on January 1, 2009, Harris Callahan; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Maxwell; an infant son, Stanley Callahan; daughter, Carolyn Callahan; and infant grandson Riley Harris Smath.
