MICHAEL A. ZAYATZ

Michael A. Zayatz, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008.

Michael was born October 9, 1930 in Lorain, OH and spent most of his life there. Michael was a graduate of Lorain High School. Then enlisted into the United States Navy in 1951, stationed aboard the USS R.L. Wilson Destroyer, serving in the Korean War. Michael returned home and was employed for 33 years with U.S. Steel as a crane operator, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lorain.

Michael was past president serving for 20 years and member of the Lorain Riffle and Pistol Club. As an expert marksman, he enjoyed the sport and teaching others. Michael enjoyed following the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He also enjoyed bird watching and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by nephew and nieces, Dennis and Kim Zayatz of Elyria, Linda Woods of Elyria and Diane Norman of Elyria; and many great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (nee:Levay) Zayatz; and his brother, Paul Zayatz.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Friday, August 29, 2008 from 6-9 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain, OH 44055, Rev. Thomas R. Smith, Pastor, officiating. Please meet at the Church on Saturday.

A private graveside burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial Donations may be made to St. John Endowment Fund, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain, OH 44055.

DANIEL JAMES KIRKBRIDE

Daniel James Kirkbride, 66, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain after an extended illness.

He was born June 11, 1942 in Lorain. He served in the United States Army for two years, a veteran of Vietnam Campaign. His decorations and medals included, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star Medal. He enjoyed working in the yard, music and playing guitar. He is survived by a brother, Michael of Lorain and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Kirkbride in 1981 and his mother Roseanne M. (nee: McManus) in 1997.
