ARTHUR F. GRONDIN
Arthur F. Grondin, 80, of Grafton died Wednesday at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
He was born September 14, 1927 in Lorain and was a Grafton area resident for 45 years. Mr. Grondin worked as a teacher for the Elyria City Schools for many years, spending most of his career as an Industrial Arts Teacher at Franklin Junior High School. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton where he served as a teacher for the Parish School of Religion over 20 years, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was active in other church functions. He was a WW II Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8369.
Survivors include this wife of 45 years, Wanita (nee: Seabold), daughters; Kathy Grondin of Vermilion, Karen Grondin of Phoenix,AZ., and Patty Grondin of Columbus; one step grandson; sisters; Doris Mahilo of North Ridgeville, and Della Barczyk of Lorain, brother; Milton Grondin of Grants Pass, OR. He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Mrosek, and brothers, Robert, Charles and William Grondin.
Friends may call Friday 4-7PM at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, at Chestnut Ridge Rd. at State Rt. 57, Elyria (322-4626).
Services will be Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St. Grafton. The Rev. John Patrick Seabold, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Private burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton.
